So, I’ve been completely out of it for the past couple of days - ill mind you. So, upon my return, I thought I would try to round up all the bad news that has me melancholy the past few days. From the Muslim reaction to the Pope’s comments, to a woman dead after a beach picnic with her fiancee, here’s all the news that’s fit to…um, despair by:

On the Pope -

Again, we have the Pope compared to Hitler, and this time Bin Laden - which, doesn’t quite make sense to me. But hey, whatever gets your jihadis inflamed.

Death threats against the Pope continue to make headlines. Michelle Malkin (quoting Catholic Londoner) reports on a demonstration outside Westminster Cathedral in London, where protesters shouted slogans such as :

“Pope Benedict go to Hell” “Pope Benedict you will pay, the Muja Hadeen are coming your way” “Pope Benedict watch your back”

Particularly disturbing (to me anyway), and, reason enough why the Pope should not apologize - ever - is this protester:

Slave of Allah, huh? So far, I have seen, among other offensive things, Jesus called a “monkey on a cross,” and now, the “slave of Allah.” However, I have not seen (nor do I really expect to see), Christians rising up in arms and firebombing Mosques, which, Malkin points out, is one key difference between us and them.

As of right now, Muslims everywhere are still upset. Though, and this is a bit of a bright spot, (so it really doesn’t belong here), but, via relapsed catholic, at least one Muslim has denounced the violence.

And, in London, security is being beefed up at churches, according to The Jawa Report.

Finally on the Pope end of things (for this morning anyway), this image of the aftermath of a firebombed Greek Orthodox church in the West Bank, found and posted by EU Referendum:

The Girl in Love who Lost her Life for a Picnic

ONE woman who will not be getting married is Yusra al- Azzam, murdered by self- appointed Hamas religious police for the crime of picnicking on the beach with a man who turned out to be her fiancé.

One of the saddest things I have read in a long time. A must read.
